Presentation Content
Please select the presentation you are requesting:
SAS Overview (20-30 min)
An overview of our office and the purposes of accommodations and how they are implemented. This would be more of an overview along with space for questions about our processes and implementation of accommodations.
Access and Inclusion: the Diversity of Disability (50 min)
This presentation explores perception of disability as a spectrum of access needs (rather than binary, medical impairments). Centering access needs informs inclusive practices rather than relying on legal compliance which is imbalanced by bias and barriers in identification (e.g. diagnosis), particularly regarding intersectional inequalities. Resources for inclusive practices and communication tips provided.
Neurodiversity: Awareness and Access Needs (50 min)
This presentation covers foundational information on neurodivergence (Autism, ADHD, learning disabilities, etc.) as well as recommended strategies and practical supports for students regarding access and inclusion.
Strengthen Student Engagement with Campus Technology (20-30 min)
This presentation will provide demonstrations of Microsoft Learning tools (through the lens of assistive technology) and how we can intentionally integrate campus technology to help promote students’ ability to participate, comprehend, and interact fully in our learning spaces.
