What is Disability Awareness Week at ISU?

Welcome to Iowa State University’s Disability Awareness Week (DAW)! This October, we’re coming together to foster inclusion, raise awareness, and celebrate the diverse experiences of individuals with disabilities within our campus community.

Throughout the week of October 21st - 25th, we take the opportunity to promote understanding, inclusion, and advocacy for individuals with disabilities by raising awareness about their experiences and addressing barriers they face. It encourages creating more accessible and equitable communities through education and dialogue. Student Accessibility Services, in cooperation with the Alliance for Disability Awareness and multiple campus partners, will be putting on a series of activities and events across the week to promote various aspects of disability awareness and the accessibility initiatives taking place on the Iowa State University campus and in Ames.
